Honey and Soy Chicken Thighs

Honey and Soy Chicken Recipe
Chicken with honey with soy sauce is a traditional Asian cuisine. The use of oregano and parsley in this recipe brings the East and West together. It's cooked with soy sauce and honey in the oven until the juices caramelise. Serve it with rice and your favourite greens.

How to Make Honey and Soy Chicken

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour (plain)
  • 4 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon hot chili
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seed
  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F – 180°C.
  • Cut the thighs of the any excess fat and cut them in halves. Coat with flour and season with chilli and oregano. Remove from the equation.
  • Heat cooking oil in a large oven-safe frying pan over high heat. Place the chicken thighs in the hot oil and fry until golden brown. Once brown, turn it over.
  • After that, add all minced garlic cloves, chicken stock, honey, and soy sauce. Bring to a simmer and bake for 30 minutes at 350°F – 180°C in the oven.
  • On high temperature, place a dry frying pan or skillet. Toast the sesame seeds until they are slightly brown. Remove from the equation.
  • Set aside the parsley, which has been chopped.
  • When the chicken is done, transfer it from the oven; the sauce must be reduced and thickened, not really too liquid, and the sides of the chicken should be extremely dark brown. Serve immediately with sesame seeds and chopped parsley on top. Serve with the sauce that has been reduced.
